The islands are home to a variety of other animals as well. Standard deathmatch, capturing the Smartie (the game’s flag), and the modes above, with the addition of base-building, are all available as multiplayer options. You can take control of any of these races in their struggle to become the preeminent species however, in the single-player mode, you must first work your way through the narratives of the Meccs and the Reapers. These three races fight to control the few available landmasses on a distant planet. The marooned Meccs, who specialize in firearms and other things that go boom, the mystical and cold-blooded Reapers, who were the original inhabitants of the planet, but were forced to live in the sea by Kabuto, the third character, a genuinely gigantic monster with a ravenous appetite and a fondness for performing wrestling maneuvers on those the size of his hand.
